Folic acid is one of the most important nutrients for a developing baby. PRENACAPS FOLATE is intended for women planning a pregnancy, who are pregnant, and who are breastfeeding. It contains 800 mcg of a biologically active form of folic acid (Quatrefolic®) with proven bioavailability.
The product does not contain, among other artificial fillers, sweeteners, magnesium stearate.
Thanks to the vegetable pullulan capsule, it is suitable for vegans.
To be used by the body, folic acid must be converted into its active form after consumption. According to data, on average, one in two people in Europe has disturbances in the process of converting folic acid into its active form. The Quatrefolic® folic acid used in PRENACAPS FOLATE is an active form that does not require transformation and can be used immediately by the body. In addition, studies have shown that Quatrefolic® achieved a maximum concentration of the active substance more than 3 times higher 1 hour after administration compared to folic acid and a total bioavailability of the active substance more than 9 times higher compared to folic acid. Quatrefolic® also achieved a maximum concentration of the active substance more than 10% higher after administration compared to another active form - calcium L-methylfolate.
Experts recommend taking folic acid at least 12 weeks before the planned pregnancy at a dose of 400 to 800 mcg/day and maintaining it throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. The optimal dose should be chosen with the doctor.
