Kutia is one of the most popular dishes at Christmas, a Slavic tradition on the Christmas Eve table. A traditional dish of Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and Belarusian cuisine. It is a combination of wheat and poppy seeds with nuts and dried fruits, sweetened with honey.

Rinse the groats in plenty of water. Then place them in boiling salted water and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the groats are tender, leave them covered for 5 minutes. The porridge-to-water ratio should be 1:2. Mix the cooked wheat with poppy seeds, dried fruits, and honey.
