Horse Chestnut Bark - Hippocastani Cortex

Use: bath herb

The agent is traditionally used externally as an aid in the treatment of edema, small bruises and limited inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Dosage: For use on the skin as a decoction:
1 tablespoon of crushed bark (about 4 g) for 1.5-2 glasses of warm water, bring to a boil, simmer slowly, cover for 5-10 minutes and strain. Use the warm decoction to prepare compresses on the affected areas.
