Lemon oil essence 30 ml - VIVIO
Essential oils are liquid, volatile fragrances obtained from various parts of plants. They are obtained by steam distillation or extraction. They are widely used in cosmetology, particularly for the fragrance and scenting of many personal care products. However, a pleasant scent isn't the only benefit of oils. It turns out that many of the compounds they contain can have a positive effect on human health, both mentally and physically. These properties have influenced the development of one of the branches of alternative medicine, aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is the application of essential oils to the skin or through inhalation. It uses techniques such as massage, showers, compresses, and baths. Natural oils are commonly used to alleviate the effects of stress, as a warming agent, antiseptic, or to help with hormonal disorders.
Numerous scientific studies have shown that lemon oil contains more than 40 different chemical compounds. The vast majority, more than 70% of them, are limonene, which gives the product an intense citrus aroma. Limonene is the most abundant compound in lemon oil, making up about 50% of the volatile substances.
According to natural medicine recommendations, lemon oil can be a good agent for relieving the progression of upper respiratory diseases. It can be used in cases of symptoms such as wheezing or coughing. In addition, lemon oil has disinfectant properties. To sanitize a surface or room, simply spray the essential oil diluted in it.
Lemon oil can also have an energizing effect, particularly due to its intense, fresh scent. Research in Japan suggests that it also has very positive results in terms of improving concentration. Spraying the substance in an office building resulted in a reduction of more than 50% in the number of errors made by employees. The linalool in lemon oil has a documented calming effect. Studies on mice have shown that spraying this compound can relieve stress and anxiety.
Lemon oil can also be used to make warm, relaxing baths. The substances it contains can have a positive effect on skin condition, reducing irritation, acne, and redness.
As the literature indicates, the limonene contained in lemon oil also has a positive effect on the functioning of the digestive system. It can be an effective remedy for reducing nausea, heartburn, and acid reflux. The same compound also affects the cardiovascular system and the liver. Literature suggests that thanks to this lemon oil can also be used in the prevention and treatment of high cholesterol, obesity, and diabetes.
