Rosehip - plant characteristics

The wild rose [Latin: Rosa canina] is a species of shrub from the rose family, found throughout Europe, North Africa, and Asia. In Poland, it is a common species, observable both in the wild and in cultivation. The rosehip is a very valuable plant resource, used not only in the food and cosmetic industries but also as an ornamental plant. One reason for its popularity is that it is a true vitamin bomb. The most valuable and sought-after plant raw material of the rosehip is its fruit.

Rosehip fruits contain

• vitamin C - wild rosehip is the richest natural source of this important vitamin for our body
• carotenoids such as lycopene and lutein, present in large quantities in rosehip fruits, which have antioxidant properties and thus protect the body against many serious chronic diseases
• polyphenolic compounds, including tannins, anthocyanins, and flavonoids, which have antioxidant effects as powerful as carotenoids
• B vitamins, mainly responsible for the proper functioning of the nervous system - they relieve nervous tension, improve mood and intellectual performance, vitamins A, E, and K
• sugars, pectin, organic acids, and folates
• minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, silicon, and iron.

Store it in an airtight and resealable package. For this reason, each of our packages is equipped with a zipper closure to facilitate closing and opening. Rosehip peels packed in ordinary aluminum foil risk not only absorbing moisture upon opening but also easily detaching from the packaging, for example in a drawer or cupboard. Rosehip - when should it be used?

• Vitamin deficiencies and increased vitamin needs due to greater physical and mental effort, cancer, infectious diseases, pregnancy, digestive and absorption disorders, etc.
• Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis - rosehip administered in high doses has strong analgesic and cartilage-regenerating properties.
• Cancer prevention. Thanks to its content of polyphenolic compounds, rosehip has a deactivating effect on reactive oxygen species and can therefore contribute to cancer prevention.
• Cardiovascular system - the high antioxidant content of rosehip has a beneficial effect on the heart and circulatory system.

Usage instructions

Pour a glass of boiling water over a teaspoon of rosehip peel and let infuse for 10 to 15 minutes in a covered dish.

Rosehip tincture

Required ingredients:

• 500 grams of rosehips
• 1 liter of 40% vodka
• 150 grams of honey

Crush the washed rosehips and pour over the previously prepared liter of vodka. Then add 150 grams of good quality honey, stir, and let rest in a warm place for about 2 weeks. After this period, decant, filter, and bottle.

Ingredients: 100% dried and destemmed rosehip peel.
