Safflower oil (safflower), cold-pressed, crude
It is a precious oil obtained by mechanical pressing from safflower seeds. This plant species was cultivated in ancient times (Egypt, India) to obtain seeds and flowers. The oil was obtained from the seeds by mechanical pressing, while the flower petals were a source of powerful vegetable dye (kartymin). Crocus flowers were also used as an expectorant, stimulant, and laxative. Safflower oil is a very rich source of EFAs (Essential Unsaturated Fatty Acids). When used in food, it has properties similar to sunflower oil.

Composition :
It contains approximately: 63-79% polyunsaturated fatty acids,
14 to 24% monounsaturated fatty acids (omega-9) and only 3 to 10% saturated fatty acids.
It is also rich in vitamin E (approximately 35 mg/100g of product) and phytosterols.

Application :
In cooking, it is used for: salads, sauces and all cold dishes.
It does not require strict dosage.
