DESCRIPTION:
L-citrulline is a precursor to L-arginine, which plays an important role in the production of nitric oxide (NO) in the body.
L-citrulline is an amino acid composed of three functional groups: an amino group (-NH2), a carboxyl group (-COOH), and a side chain containing a citrulline residue. It is a non-protein amino acid, meaning it is not incorporated into proteins, but it can play an important role in metabolic processes. L-citrulline is naturally present in certain food sources, such as watermelons (which have a particularly high L-citrulline content), pumpkins, melons, and other fruits. It can also be produced by living organisms through the process of biosynthesis.
