DESCRIPTION :

The nutrients our eyes need are often difficult to obtain in sufficient quantities from food alone. For example: carotenoid nutrients found in vegetables, such as lutein and certain forms of zeaxanthin, make up our macular pigment, essential for good vision. This part of the retina protects the underlying light-sensitive cells from damage caused by excess blue and ultraviolet light. Unfortunately, macular density naturally decreases with age, and some of us lose the ability to make meso-zeaxanthin from lutein over time.
