Manuka Honey 100+ 500g MANUKA HEALTH NEW ZEALAND

Compared to other European and tropical honeys, Manuka honey is primarily characterized by its indigenous origin. They occur only in a few regions of New Zealand that are a natural refuge for the rare shrubs of the genus Leptospermum scoparium. These are homogeneous honeys that have been produced exclusively in New Zealand, during the flowering period of the Manuka shrubs, which are mainly made from the nectar of the Leptospermum scoparium plants. These honeys must also have the following characteristics: appropriate conductivity range, exceptional flavor defined as mineral, slightly bitter; strongly aromatic scent with noticeable notes of damp earth and heather; the presence of pollen characteristic of Manuka shrubs and active ingredients, including: methylglyoxal (MGO™).

MGO™ is an abbreviation for Methylglyoxal - a natural substance recognized by scientists as a characteristic ingredient of Manuka honeys, which, due to their high content, are distinguished from other honeys available on the market. Manuka Health New Zealand is a pioneer and scientific leader in the MGO™ method and a leading exporter of high-quality Manuka honey. It was the first to introduce the determination of commercial quality of Manuka honeys by measuring methylglyoxal - MGO™ (since 2007) and has had a significant impact on scientific and official work related to the quality of Manuka honeys in New Zealand and around the world.
