It is mainly used in cases of cold with hoarseness, persistent cough (dry - protects the irritated and moist mucous membrane - helps expectoration of secretions). The virgin is also used as a protective medicine in inflammations of the stomach and intestines: Externally, decoctions prepared from this plant are used for gargling the throat and mouth (in case of tonsillitis, cold), but also for poultices on affected areas (wounds, bruises, ulcers, burns, bedsores, frostbite, and allergic reactions).

Thanks to the saponins they contain, mullein flowers increase mucus production in the respiratory tract and facilitate expectoration. The mucilage they contain has a coating effect that helps protect the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract against irritating stimuli. The antiviral effect has been demonstrated.

Instructions for use: Pour boiling water over a teaspoon, cover and let infuse for 10 minutes. Drink 1/2 - 1 glass 3 times a day.
