Macadamia nuts 100g - VIVIO
Macadamia nuts are the fruit of an evergreen tree from the silverfish family that grows naturally in Australia. Valued by Aboriginal people due to its high content of valuable fatty acids, they were discovered by Scottish botanist Walter Hill in the 1950s. The nuts are circular in shape. The color of the shell gives them a somewhat hazelnut-like appearance. Inside, there is a delicate, creamy flesh. What do they taste like? They can be compared to cashews, but have a more sweet and salty aftertaste. Their flavor can be enhanced by roasting. One macadamia nut weighs about 3 grams. A handful of this delicacy weighs about 40 grams and up to 300 calories! The oil obtained from them has a pleasant scent and valuable ingredients for the skin, which is why it is widely used in the cosmetics industry. Macadamia nut butter has softening, moisturizing, and smoothing properties. It is particularly recommended for sensitive skin.
Macadamia trees can reach up to 5 meters in height. However, they bear fruit very late, only after 5 years. They grow wild in Australia, Indonesia, and New Caledonia. The largest macadamia nut cultivation is currently found in Hawaii and South Africa. Industrial-scale cultivation in Poland is not possible. Macadamia trees thrive best in subtropical climates; they do not like shade or frost, but they require a lot of moisture. However, a macadamia tree can be planted in a pot at home as an ornamental. Split nuts are used for this purpose, not cuttings. However, the plant is very demanding to grow.
Are macadamia nuts healthy? They contain micronutrients that are valuable for health (calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium) and vitamins (vitamins A, E, and B). Thanks to this, they can help maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails. They are characterized by a high protein, dietary fiber, and carbohydrate content. Up to 70% of all nutrients are fats. These are mainly monounsaturated fatty acids (the so-called good fats): oleic, palmitoleic, and icozoic, which help maintain normal cholesterol levels. It is because of their presence that macadamia nuts should be present in our diet. According to the World Health Organization's recommendations, the energy we provide from food should come from so-called good fats. It is important that macadamia nuts be used sparingly as a substitute for other products.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The shell of macadamia nuts is very hard. How do you split it? It's best to use a hammer or pliers for this purpose. Nuts sold in their shells often have cuts in the shell. This treatment makes it easier to access the insides. However, it's best to buy shelled nuts. Macadamia nuts can be eaten as a snack or enrich a variety of dishes. They are best added to cakes; you can easily make a paste from them; they pair well with rice and minced meat. Ground macadamia nuts are often found in chocolate, ice cream, and other desserts. They taste good in honey, as well as savory. Macadamia nut oil is used in cooking. Due to its high smoke point, it can be used for frying. It doesn't lose its characteristic nutty aroma.
