Willowherb (Epilobium parviflorum) is a perennial green plant belonging to the primrose family. It reaches sizes up to 1 meter and a height and can be found both in Poland and other parts of Europe, as well as in Africa, the Middle East, India, and China. Known and appreciated for centuries in folk herbal medicine, it is now beginning to be noticed by contemporary researchers as well.

Willowherb extracts have been the subject of numerous scientific studies due to their chemical composition. It contains substances such as beta-sitosterol, phenols, and flavonoids. Many plants of the genus Epilobium are analyzed for their beneficial effects on the human body, and although testing on the plant is still ongoing, its beneficial effects on relieving menopausal symptoms and supporting the urinary tract have already been confirmed.

Although willowherb has only recently been noticed by modern science, it has been used for hundreds of years in folk herbalism, for example in the form of a tea infusion. The herb for its preparation was harvested in spring and then dried for later use.
