Soy sauce is an ingredient that Japanese cuisine cannot exist without. It's exactly what salt and pepper are to European cuisine.
It is perfect for meat, fish, vegetable, and seaweed dishes. It can be eaten alone as a dip, for example for sushi or sashimi, or in combination with other ingredients.
A little soy sauce added to the dish will enhance its taste and give it a characteristic oriental aftertaste and a slightly brown color.
When using soy sauce, remember to always add it at the end, as long cooking will cause the soy sauce to completely overpower the entire dish.
